11+ exams are usually scheduled for the first couple of weeks in September
Registration usually starts in May but please check the websites below from April onwards or after the Easter holidays
Below is a list of milestones that have been used in previous years to gauge the readiness of our students for the 11+ exams and have proven accurate to date.
JANUARY - JULY
During this period children will need to do the following to stand a good chance of passing their exams;
Attend a minimum of 2 lesson sessions per week. This is a requirement for year 5 students preparing for their exams the following year.
Complete all their tasks on Conquermaths; completed tasks should be revisited as necessary
Achieve a consistent level 8 and above on ReadTheory
Complete at least two sets of 9 - 10 Bond and CGP books in all 4 subjects (Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning, Math and English)
Complete the initial assessment tests on the CHUCKRA online test platform (Logins will be provided by highflyers)
Attend summer school in August. We run twelve 3 hour sessions over 4 weeks in August. Actual dates will be decided nearer the time, however registration is in June so we can plan ahead.
Take one or two mock exams to get some real-life experience of what to expect on the day of their actual exam.
MOCK TESTS
Please visit the following websites where you can book mock tests:
It is advisable that you book your child for at least one mock test in either May or June.
Mock tests give children the opportunity to experience an exam in an unfamiliar setting, thus limiting exam nerves later on. It also provides valuable feedback for parents so they can focus on weak areas before the actual exam.
